Oktoberfest 2010

October is a favorite month for a lot of people, and why wouldn't it be? It's the month the temperatures finally dip to reasonable numbers and its the month the leaves change color - but depending on who you ask, its also the favorite month because of Halloween... or Oktoberfest.

Gatlinburg has long been a great place for Halloween year after year in the mountains, but people looking for Oktoberfest have not had as much luck. Enter Ober Gatlinburg; they're having all day Oktoberfest Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays every weekend in October. Because this is Ober Gatlinburg, it will be a more stately affair - plenty of beer and fun but in tasteful amounts.

There is German food and singing at 1:00, 4:00, 6:00 PMs throughout the days. Its best to get there in the afternoon to enjoy all the fun. Whether you stay for all the fun or not, Ober Gatlinburg is also incredible just for the ride above the Smokies which gives you one of the BEST views of the Smokies in full bloom around - you're literally flying in the air!

Take a look at this video and see what fun you could be having!

And its all just up the hill from all our cabins at Mountain Laurel Chalets. Where else can you stay in Tennessee where you get gorgeous mountain views, genuine structural peace and quiet and a major family entertainment park with Oktoberfest right up the hill? Only Mountain Laurel Chalets makes that possible with each chalet on Ski Mountain Road. Stay with us and enjoy your Smoky Mountain Vacation!
